You still got about 12 days before the contest ends. And just for your information, all categories (and it's sub-categories) have entry(ies) now BUT all categories still lack of the minimum targeted number of entries except the Maia's sub-category (I guess people likes to draw female hehe ) but feel free if you want to submit for Maia. It depends on you to enter any category you want. ^_^


The contest will end on the 31st May 2008 and I will not extend it anymore. If any category/sub-category didn't reach my minimum target of entries, I'll just give something 'special' for each entries.

But for the 3rd Category, I really hope I'll get at least 10 entries since this category means a lot to me the most, so don't be afraid to enter and you can amuse me with your ideas.

Expect more additional prizes if there are many entries (might be more subscription prizes or doodle sketch or oekaki or whatever I feel like to give )~

Even if you couldn't manage to finish your entry by the end of May, just send in the entry~ Don't let it to be a waste~ Please guys, don't feel too limited or burdened with the rules and faqs. It's not that I will reject any entries you have made, lolz.

CONTEST FAQS
Here are some answers to some questions that people might think or wondering about this contest. Some of them are already stated here [link] but just in case it would be easier if I put it in this FAQ section. If you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask me nyaa because sometimes I'm lazy to put it in the FAQ so just ask if you have questions. :3 (nyahaha sorry Lily I copied a little from you kekekekeke)


1. There are so many categories! Can I join all?
You can enter all the 3 main categories and all sub-categories now (edited and changed on 15th May)



2. I kinda didn't understand about the 3rd category. You said Group Art, so does that mean I can draw all of them in one art and still have situational background although they didn't be together? Some kinda like poster things or conceptual art.
You mean each of them in different situations? Something like this One Piece example? --> [link] right? Well.. if you do that, it's actually the same concept for the 1st category but you just combine all the 5 individual arts in one art. Actually it's true I want the art to be situational art but I want them to be together in one situational. Which means they are still together in one art even though you want to make them doing their own activities. Well, maybe you can just thinking of a specific theme to be the situational idea. hehehe... sorry about this confusion


3. What do you mean by patterned and situational background?
Patterned background is something abstract background, not scene/situational background. To make it easy, these are some art examples with patterned/abstract background:

^{I don't really mind if it's the very very simplest/easiest background you could do as long as it shows the mood of situational/scenes backgrounds.}


4. Can I use a picture drawn by (put someone here) for my entry as the background?
Definitely no. More so if you're using it without the original artist's permission. Plus, it won't be fair to the artist and to others who created their own background. Unless if it's a collab where your partner is drawing the background, then I guess it's alright... but if you guys win, it's up to you on how you want to divide the prize.


5. Then can I manipulate a photograph I took/googled and use it as a background?
Hmmm.. tough one since I said I want it to be hand-made background.. But if you REALLY cannot do even a simple background, I guess you can as long as you have permission to use it/it belongs to you. But it won't count as a hand-made background in the judging which means.. the probability to win will be kinda hard.. <-- This applies more to the 3rd category. For the 1st and 2nd category, using small textures or patterns or brushes from any free websites are OK but try not to use 100% texture..


5. Do I have to make them in their designated clothes? Can I draw your characters in outfits that I designed myself?
Sure can, as long as it's not too OOC (out of character) for them. But it's up to you actually. You can amuse me.


6. Can I add any random people (like example my OCs) in my entry?
Well no..since this is a contest for my characters.... And definitely no for the 1st and the 2nd category.
But maybe you can for the 3rd category as long as they don't appear as ' physical' persons (means 'living forms' in the art). For example, your OCs can be featured in a wanted poster or advertisement seen somewhere in your entry? (or maybe just some random crowds at the back)


7. You didn't have any art references for their weapons except the descriptions. So can I design a new weapons for them?
Yes you can since they make their weapons out of their elemental powers so it's kinda like imaginary weapons so sometimes they don't have any specific designs for the weapons. You can make a new weapon type too for them if you want although it is stated they have their own preferable type of weapons.


8. Is a collab entry allowed? (Eg: I draw and my friend colors)
No for the 1st category but Yes for the 2nd and 3rd category. Why not for the 1st category? Because if you win how can you split the prize request of only 1 maximum character? Unless if you want to give the prize to someone else as a gift. lol ^_^;;


9. So if I do collab for 2nd or 3rd category, how will the prizes be split up?
It depends. You might have two separate pieces of arts of split characters.. or maybe other than that. This will be discussed if you win.

10. For the DA subscription, can I exchange it with something else if I don't want the DA subscription?
If you want cash, you can as long as you have Paypal only. If you are not a DA member and you don't have Paypal, you can ask for anything that can be bought from the internet as long as it is the same value as the prize money. Maybe something like subscriptions in other places? (but as long as it's not billing type.. O_O; )
